You may not know it, but today getting a psychology degree might be one of the best career moves you can make. A degree in psychology will give you important skills you can use on a daily basis in almost any other job you choose. One thing most people don’t know is that getting a psychology degree doesn’t lock you into becoming a licensed psychologist. In fact, only 25% of psychology degree holders at the bachelor’s level go on to attain the educational requirements that are needed to become a psychologist who practices with patients.

The acute shortage of nurses stretches beyond racial boundaries. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics 55% of all nurses are white and 35% are black. Still that doesn’t mean the health care industry won’t take more African Americans. They’ll take anyone who comes out of college with respectable grades and certification and there are grants and scholarships to assist.
